Mission StatementText Box: We are dedicated to providing a means for those individuals, who desire to excel at the sport of cheerleading & dance, to compete at the all star level.  Our commitment to provide a positive atmosphere where each member is challenged to achieve their personal best, both on and off the competition floor, is built on a strong foundation of Family, Friends, and Fun, while teaching Skills, Safety, and Sportsmanship.  It is our goal to develop, through the sport of all star cheerleading & dance, well rounded individuals who display positive self esteem and self confidence, respect for self and others, self discipline, and sportsmanship. Text Box: Since its inception, we have operated under the philosophy that . . . “When we compete our toughest competitor is our last performance or practice”. This does not mean that we don’t want to win our division and be the best. We do want to win and be the best; however, we will not compromise our ethics or standards and “cheer down” or allow our members to stagnate in order to bring home a trophy.  Our program is designed to challenge all our members to do their very best. It is our opinion that our members, who most importantly are our children, are best served by the example we as coaches and parents set by practicing ethical participation and sportsmanship. In the end, our children know that the only opinion that matters is the one that stares back at them from the mirror when they ask themselves “Did I do my best”. We want to instill in our children the value of the knowledge that comes when you have done your very best. In our opinion, the self-confidence, self-respect, and success that these examples set for our children will last much longer and take them much further in life than a trophy gathering dust on a shelf. PhilosophyText Box: Calvert All Stars, Inc. (dba CA Star) is a federally recognized non-profit organization (501c3) formed in 1998 to provide a means for those individuals who enjoy and excel at the sport of cheerleading to compete at the all-star level.  We have programs for all ages, pre-k through adult; and all skill levels beginner through advanced. Through practice, performance & competition, our staff strives to develop the whole athlete - physically, mentally, & emotionally. Our philosophy is that every child can reach their potential in a supportive environment with positive guidance & superior instruction. All-Star cheer combines tumbling, elite stunting, dance, strength & conditioning training to teach goal setting & team work. Most importantly, we believe that the valuable life skills that are encouraged and nurtured by participation in our sport, and the training opportunities we provide, enable our members to develop a strong foundation on which to build their talents and fulfill the potential we see in each of them. Over the last twenty-one years, CA Star has evolved from practicing in the hallway of a local elementary school to a full-size, self-supported training facility offering cheerleading and floor tumbling. CA Star is consistently recognized by our peers because of the unique nature of our organization. CAS is the only federally recognized nonprofit all-star organization in Southern Maryland. 100% of the monies generated go to support the mission and objectives of CA Star. CA Star maintains the only facility in Southern Maryland dedicated exclusively to training athletes for the sport of all-star cheer. CA Star is staffed entirely by adult instructors, who are greenlighted background checked, qualified, USASF/AACCA/USAG credentialed volunteers who devote their time and talents to supporting the youth of Southern Maryland. We have a “no cut” policy because we believe that every child can be a successful allstar athlete if they have the desire, determination, and dedication to succeed.
